Description

A collection of wood engravings printed and engraved by individual artists: Linda Samson Talleur, Chris Faries, Dorthy Love, Jenny MacLeod, Tasha Miller Griffith, Kathleen Cunfer, Shelby-Rose Hoglen, Virginia Mattox, Debra Sue Lachter, assistant Rebecca Gilbert, and instructor Joanne Price during the “Wood Engraving: Historic Letterpress Illustration” course on July 21 – 26 at the Folk School. Images are original drawings, cut into an end grain wood block, then printed onto paper, similar in process to a stamp. Some students had experience engraving and printing, and some were doing it for the first time. Joanne Price has been printmaking for more than 30 years, and demonstrates a wide range of experience.

Artist Bio: Joanne Price, founder of Starpointe Studio, is an artist primarily focused on relief print media and book arts. Price lives and works in rural Kentucky, is an elected member of the Society of Wood Engravers, and is President Emeritus of the Wood Engravers Network (2014-2020).

Usage/Care Notes: Paper art should not be exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time and should be kept dry and clean.
