Handspun 2 ply yarns made by Martha Owen, Folk School instructor and Creative Programs Advisor, left overs from a years worth of teaching folks how to spin here and many other places. Locally grown wools from her smorgasbord flock of several kinds of sheep. All natural sheep colors plus added natural dyes. Enough to make a sweater! Want to know how to use the yarn? Artist Name: Martha Owen

Artist Bio: Martha Owen is Creative Programming Advisor at the Folk School (folkschool.org) in spinning, knitting and crochet, felt making, dyeing and surface design. Her adventure in spinning and natural dyeing began at this very school in 1978. She has been teaching here since 1984. (She taught her spinning first class of thirteen with a one month old nursling in a wind up swing as her assistant. That baby is now 39! ) Since 1980 her extended family has included sheep (currently BFL, Corriedale, Shetland) and French angora rabbits. Also a banjo player and known to tell a story or two Martha’s interest in sheep and wool, music and dance has carried her literally and joyfully around the world. Her children say she is a wool nerd but her sheep say she is out-standing in her field!

Usage/Care Notes: Hand wash, spin dry, lay flat to dry.
