Personal growth and interpersonal connection: They're the important things that fulfill us, but in today's world they can seem increasingly difficult to achieve. The Folk School is here to help people have powerful experiences of self-discovery through creative learning and to help forge authentic personal connections with others so everyone can be their best selves.
That takes lots of shapes at the Folk School; experiences here are uniquely individualized. But by consistently providing a
non-competitive, supportive, and collaborative environment, we enable intense focus on creative exploration that results in a sense of personal challenge, growth, and accomplishment. All in an interconnected and comforting community of nourishment and rejuvenation.
It takes a lot to be your Folk School. With 850+ weeklong and weekend classes for 6,200+ people per year, and with vibrant music, dance, craft, and art event offerings, all on a large, 300-acre campus, your non-profit needs the support of everyone who values immersive creative learning and relational interactions as a way to a more fulfilled life.
When you financially support the Folk School, you're helping make the world a more caring and creative place. Tangibly, that means maintaining and equipping studios, housing, the dining facility, History Center, Craft Shop, Log Cabin Museum, trails and gardens. It means supporting a robust traditional Appalachian concert and dance program. It means enabling scholarships for people who would otherwise be unable to attend. And it means reaching out to area youth with programs like Little-Middle Folk School and our Junior Appalachian Musicians program.
We appreciate your support and are glad you're part of the Folk School family.
