Scholarship Gifts

Our scholarship program helps those who would otherwise be unable to attend have joyous and enlivening learning experiences. Examples of recipients might be young people without deeper financial resources, people burdened by the weight of medical debt, or those challenged by a significant life event who need respite. Imagine helping a passionate, burgeoning artist who’s poised to become a professional artist. The Folk School’s scholarship awards committee solicits and considers applications and awards scholarships based on specific scholarship agreements with each donor.

Individually Funded Scholarships

You can provide a single scholarship for tuition, housing, and meals with a gift of $1,700 for a weeklong class or $775 for a weekend class. You may name the scholarship after yourself or choose an honorific or memorial name. Scholarships may be designated to benefit students in a certain program area, e.g., woodturning or painting, or they may be unrestricted. The scholarship is awarded as soon as a qualifying recipient is identified by the school’s scholarship committee.
